Google Analytics Template

The Google Analytics template in Zweigen shows traffic, content performance, and channel quality with Google Analytics 4 — metrics, structure, and getting started.

What the template shows

The Google Analytics template is the default starting point for a Google Analytics 4 dashboard in Zweigen. It maps the most important GA4 metrics in a structured way — from a compact overview to channel and page-level details.

Structure and metrics

The template follows a clear analysis logic: first status, then trend, then drivers, and finally context.

KPI layer – overview

Compact summary of the most important metrics at a glance:

MetricDescription
UsersNumber of unique users in the selected period
SessionsNumber of sessions
Page viewsTotal pages viewed
Key eventsConversions and configured events
Engagement rateShare of engaged sessions (at least 10 s active, key event, or multiple pages)

Trend area

Time-based development of core metrics as a line chart. Shows whether changes are short-term or structural and where trend breaks occur.

Driver area

Which channels, entry pages, and content drive the development:

DimensionQuestion it answers
ChannelWhere do users come from? (Organic, Direct, Paid, Social, etc.)
Landing pageWhich page starts most sessions?
Content pagesWhich pages are viewed most often?

Context area

Distributions for tactical optimization:

  • Device category – desktop, mobile, and tablet compared
  • Day of week – which days see the most traffic?

Getting started

  1. Connect your Google Analytics data source through Integrations.
  2. Create a new dashboard and choose the Google Analytics template.
  3. Select your GA4 data source and the property you want to analyze.
  4. The dashboard is immediately usable.

Adjust date range, comparison, and granularity to fit your analysis.

Recommendations

  • Enable comparison with the previous period to see deltas at a glance.
  • Limit segment views to the most important groups so the dashboard stays readable.
  • First check overall volume, then quality signals (engagement rate, key events), and only then channel and page details.

All Data. One system.
