Dashboards in Zweigen

What a dashboard is

A dashboard in Zweigen is a freely designable view of your data. It consists of widgets arranged on a 24-column grid. Each widget is connected to a data source and shows metrics, charts, or tables.

Dashboards are organized in dashboard groups inside the workspace. A dashboard without a group does not appear in the workspace and is only accessible via a direct link.

Dashboard toolbar

The toolbar sits at the top of every dashboard. It contains:

Freshness status

The freshness status is a core trust signal on every dashboard. It tells you how current the data you are looking at is — so you know whether you are working with up-to-date or stale numbers.

Where it appears

The status appears in the dashboard toolbar, next to the time filter. It shows a timestamp or a relative indicator such as 2 hours ago or Today, 8:14 AM.

How it is calculated

When a dashboard contains widgets from different data sources, Zweigen uses the most conservative state across all relevant sources. If one data source has data from yesterday and another from today, the freshness status shows yesterday's state — so the indicator never looks more current than the oldest relevant source.

Freshness and filters

The displayed status always refers to the currently visible widgets. If the time filter selects a period for which the most recent data is not yet fully available, affected widgets show a note directly in the widget or in the time filter area.

When data is not current

Common reasons for a stale status:

• The data source delivers data on a fixed schedule (e.g. once daily) and the next import has not completed yet.
• An integration has a connection error and could not fetch new data.
• Data was imported manually through a file upload and has not been updated.

If the status stays stale longer than expected, check the connection status of the affected data source.

Read and edit mode

Dashboards have two modes:

Read mode — the default. You see all widgets, can set the time filter, interact with widgets, and share the dashboard. Widgets cannot be moved or configured.

Edit mode — for changes. You move widgets by drag and drop, resize them, add new widgets, or configure existing ones. All changes are saved automatically when you switch back to read mode.
